One Fat Man Wasting Your Time

Workouts

2009 has begun.  In February I began to get serious once again with getting back into shape.  I started December lifting weights, and then in February I moved to a split routine.  I added the low carb diet to my plan, and finally I instituted a twelve week plan as a start on my journey in getting this weight to normal.

2008

I begin 2008 ready to get in the best shape of my life. I hope to compete in a 10K run in mid May. I will use weight training and jogging along with jump roping to start January.

  • January was a good month with weight training, jogging, and counting steps. I did the jogging and weights once a week and have been tracking my steps for about two weeks now. My goal is 10K steps per day. I started off with the jump roping but that petered out. For February I need to re-start the jump roping, get the weights and jogging to twice/week, and get my jogs to 3 miles by month end.
  • February was a rough month. I got injured, which threw off my workouts and did not allow me to progress. I managed to walk 7974 steps for day, well below my goal of 10,000 steps. Considering my injuries and a lot of luck, I feel it was a successful month. For March, my goals are to increase my walking to 12,000 steps per day, start throwing in some push ups and stomach exercises, and perhaps restart weight training.
  • March was a horrible month for dieting, but my workouts increased.  I averaged over 10,000 steps, a significant  improvement, began lifting weights, and started my jogging.  April’s focus will be to increase my daily steps to 13,000, lift weights twice per week and seriously train for the 10K in May.  I also intend to continue with my jump rope routine.  Dieting will become secondary to my workouts.
